How do I become an approved SAFQUAL UK centre?

To become an approved SAFQUAL UK centre, register your interest on our website using the "Become a Partner" tab or email info@safqual.co.uk.

A formal visit will be arranged, during which an External Verifier (EV) will assess your centre's resources, qualified staff, and internal quality assurance systems. Upon successful evaluation, you will receive official approval. Our support team is available to assist you throughout the process.

What documents are required for centre approval?

You must complete and submit the Centre Recognition Form to your dedicated Account Manager. This form includes:

  • Centre details
  • Policies and procedures
  • Qualifications you wish to offer
  • Staff member information

If using alternative assessment materials, attach examples with the form. You must also sign and date the SAFQUAL UK Centre Agreement.

What policies are required for approval?

Your centre must have the following policies in place:

  • Appeals Policy
  • Complaints Policy
  • Equality and Diversity Policy
  • Exam Invigilation Policy
  • Internal Verification Policy
  • Malpractice and Maladministration Policy
  • Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations Policy
  • Safeguarding Policy

If you lack any of these, you may develop your own or adapt policies provided by SAFQUAL UK.

How long does the centre approval process take?

The process typically takes up to four weeks, from initial registration to the issuance of the centre approval certificate.

How do I get qualification approval?

If you're already an approved centre and wish to offer additional qualifications, complete a Qualification Approval Form to update your centre's profile.

How can a learner get a replacement certificate?

A learner or centre may complete a Replacement Certificate Form and submit it to SAFQUAL UK. A fee will be charged for each replacement certificate.

What is an Internal Verifier (IV)?

An Internal Verifier ensures the quality of assessment within the centre, monitors assessor activities, and facilitates standardisation and feedback processes.

What is External Verification?

External Verification ensures that qualifications are delivered and assessed to standard. The process checks that:

  • Qualified staff and resources support learner achievement
  • Assessment practices align with awarding body standards

What is an External Verifier?

An External Verifier represents the awarding body and evaluates a centre's delivery, assessment, administration, and internal quality assurance procedures.

How often will an EV visit occur?

An EV will typically visit once per year. Additional pre-arranged or unannounced visits may also be conducted to uphold quality standards.

What happens during an EV visit?

During the visit, the EV will review procedures, delivery methods, assessments, and interview staff and learners. A report will be created and sent to SAFQUAL UK's Quality Assurance Manager, then shared with the centre.

When will I receive the EV report?

You will receive the report within a few working days following the verification visit.

How can I make a complaint?

Learners should follow their centre's Complaints Policy. If unsatisfied, they may contact SAFQUAL UK's customer service at info@safqual.co.uk.
